Cavall letterpress wedding invitation for a Valentine Day wedding

This is a vibrantly cool variation of our Cavall letterpress wedding invitation design — and it really showcases how back printing & envelope lining can make an invitation unforgettable. This invitation is for a Valentine’s Day wedding, so the mix of a peacock blue-green ink for the invitation, and raspberry ink for the envelope liner and backing, seemed perfect to us. We love the elegant energy of the patterns at play too (the Seneca pattern for the liner — one of our most popular patterns right now — and the Ledon pattern for the backing). We just couldn’t stop looking at this set! This invitation was sent to us by No Regrets in Newton, Massachusetts.

Letterpress cards for the Amazon Consersation Association

The Amazon Conversation Association is one amazing environmental nonprofit that we support through 1% for the Planet (we donate 1% of sales to the ACA and the Pesticide Action Network) — but we are also so excited to support the Amazon Conservation Association by printing pro bono these letterpress cards for them this year. Letterpressed on bamboo paper of course….the sweet illustration is by Susan Cousineau, a Los Amigos Researcher in 2008. Letterpress holiday card for Amazon Conservation Association - Smock

Ultra-stylish letterpress save the date cards – go black ink!

Nothing can beat this Nevis save the date design in a rich black letterpress ink, paired with cool patternings at play. It’s modern and elegant and just really, really cool. The Nevis has been one of our hot letterpress invitation designs for the season so far. Sent to us by our friends at Peabody Papers in Columbus, Ohio.

Wordshop (and Smock!) in 5280.com magazine

Wordshop (and Smock!) in 5280.com magazine
Wordshop, one of our favorite stationery stores in Denver, was recently named one of the 20 Best New Boutiques by 5280.com (Colorado’s largest and award-winning magazine). We were thrilled to see Smock mentioned as well. Hooray! 5280.com writes that they love to visit Wordshop because of the “separate outdoor nook, complete with vintage desks and a writing bar, where we can site with a latte, our thoughts, and a pen and paper.” That sounds so addictive and lovely!

Letterpress wedding invitation + patterns + pocketfold = love

We love the sophisticated play of patterning going on in this letterpress wedding invitation for a cool December wedding. This was a custom design based on several of Smock’s wedding patterns. The folio interior is the Rowe pattern in taupe, and the folio exterior is the Virielles pattern in sea mist (with our custom folios, you can choose any of our inks and any of our patterns for the interior and exterior). The invitation is letterpressed in taupe and sea mist, two hard-core classic and elegant inks. Sent to us by our friends at Real Card Company. A cool letterpress holiday card….

We’re getting in the holiday spirit over here at Smock, thanks to snow, 4 degree mornings, and….some great custom holiday cards that are leaving our shop! Check this one out — the envelope liner (geneva pattern) + backing (seneca pattern), both in red, just made us swoon. What a cool combination. This card came to us by our friends at Cotton Idea Studio in Laguna Beach, California.

One thing I love #9: this jacket (by Amy Graham Stigler)

This jacket. For so many reasons. First, it heralds in the holidays (which, at our house, begins with november birthdays). Second, it reminds me of childhood parties filled with a mob of parents and cheek kisses and tom collins and clinking glasses. Oh, and the special privilege of staying up way (way) past my bedtime. And lastly (and perhaps most importantly) is the fact that my husband looks quite dashing in plaid.
