Sales tax

We charge sales tax for orders shipped to a NY state address based on the county’s tax rate. We do not charge sales tax on out of state orders.

Custom Invitations and Stationery.

Smock is sold at fine stationery stores across the country. Use our handy dealer search to find a store near you. If there isn’t a store in your area, you can work with us directly.

Two rounds of changes to your initial proof are included with your order. Additional rounds of revisions are $40. Once we receive your order and your text, you will receive your initial proof within three business days. Proofs containing hand calligraphy or custom artwork are sent within six business days. Revisions to proofs are sent out within one business day.

Invitation timeframe.

Our normal turnaround is 3 business days for design, and 10 business days for production. Rush services are available for an upcharge.

If orders are canceled before proof approval, design fees may apply. After proof approval, orders can not be canceled and will be billed for in full.

Duties and taxes on international orders.

For orders shipped to destinations outside the U.S., duties and taxes, if imposed on your order, are due at the time of delivery. These charges are not calculated during checkout and are not collected by Smock. Since these fees differ greatly from country to country, consult your local customs office for more information and details about duties and taxes. The customer is responsible for all duties and taxes on their order.

Understanding artisan printing.

Because our printing is done on antique printing presses, each piece that we print will be subtly unique. No two pieces are entirely identical, and letterpress printing is not an exact science. Subtle variations in inking, color, impression and position are to be expected. Similar variations may be found in our flat offset back patterning and our foil stamping. This is part of what makes our printing beautiful.

We are committed to your happiness. If something isn’t right, we will do everything possible to make it right.
