Long before leaving town and setting up temporary residence in the Javits Center for the 2011 National Stationery Show, our design team was hard at work creating the perfect letterpress invitation to wow would-be visitors. Printed in vibrant hot pink and papaya inks, the invitation features highlights from our new letterpress wedding album including inspired new fonts, our show-stopping letterpress sleeve, and a great die-cut invitation shape. (Yes! We now offer letterpress sleeves and die-cuts in two awesome shapes!) Our latest designs (which we’ll share more of here soon) are all about inspired typography, bold and cheerful color, perfect patterns and an abundance of embellishment options. Letterpress sleeves, new letterpress printed belly bands, die-cuts, hand bordering, custom postage stamps and more! We’re so excited to show off our National Stationery Show booth now that we’re home and recovering from the excitement of the show. Conceptualizing our booth and thinking about how we can best show off all of our exciting new products is always a long process, so seeing it come together is really rewarding. Here’s a little look at setup day and the finished booth design… Here’s what the booth looked like when we showed up. Our 10′ by 30′ space is consumed by our two large shipping crates and an oversized boom lift that decided that our booth looked like a cozy place to hang out for a bit. 20 minutes later, the space is cleared out and we’re ready for set up! A little while later, our flooring is down and the walls of our booth are being constructed… …it doesn’t take long before co-owner Harold is feeling a little loopy from playing with bolts and nuts and framing. (He actually loves setup, don’t let him fool you.) A bit later, the walls go up! After our wall framing is up, it’s time for the canvas panels that form the walls of our booth. Then, the shelving goes up and we start merchandising product. (Making time for a little lunch and a little fun along the way.) And just like that (or, really, several hours later) here’s what we had… So there you have it! Stay tuned next week for more highlights from the show, including a fun tutorial on how to make the paper flowers we used all over the booth. (We made more than 100 of them from our double-sided recycled wrapping papers!) They were such a hit we promised to share the how-to so everyone can make their own. Happy weekend!

While we travel to New York and get the final preparations for the National Stationery show underway, we couldn’t resist sharing a little sneak peek at our latest designs. We’ve got all new additions to our ever-popular gift wrap and letterpress greeting card collections, plus all new notebooks, letterpress scratch pads and more! Oh, and we’ve got a completely re-imagined and beautifully inspired new letterpress wedding album, too. Recently unveiled at the National Stationery Show and the New York International Gift Fair, today we’re excited to introduce you to our latest eco stationery and paper goods from our Everyday collection! Just in time for back to school season, our new letterpress greeting cards, eco gift wrap, gift bags, eco sticky notes, patterned boxes, letterpress notepads, pocket-sized notebooks (and more!) can be found on our website and at Smock retailers worldwide.

Eco Sticky Notes
Our new eco sticky notes are bright and vibrant, featuring 700 sticky notes made from 100% post consumer recycled paper. They are FSC certified and made locally here in Upstate New York.

New Jotter Notebooks
Our jotter notebooks come in a set of two coordinating jotters with 40 pages each. They are made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper with covers made from our signature gift wrap and letterpress printed with the word “notes.” We keep them in our pockets, our purses and at our fingertips for jotting down great ideas.

New Letterpress Notepads
Our pretty new letterpress memo notepads feature letterpressed bamboo paper covers + 90 blank interior pages made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper.

New Patterned Eco Boxes
Acid-free and made from 100% post consumer recycled materials right here in Upstate New York, our new eco boxes come in three sizes and a variety of patterns and colors. They are perfect as gift boxes, keepsakes boxes and as stylish storage solutions. How will you use yours?

New Eco Gift Bags
Our new eco gift bags are truly one of a kind. They are made for us in the Himalayan forests of Nepal by a really cool community-owned group devoted to sustainable forestry. They are FSC certified and silkscreen printed on handmade lokta paper – they’re also sturdy enough for re-use! These bags are made using papermaking techniques that have been around since the 12th century A.D.

New Letterpress Greeting Cards
More of our letterpress greeting cards you know and love, our new cards feature all new occasions including happy new home, baptism, bar/bat mitzvah, pet sympathy, and graduation in additional to perennial favorites such as happy birthday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, baby, wedding and engagement greeting cards. All of our greeting cards are sustainably letterpress printed on our bamboo paper and come paired with patterned envelopes.

New Eco Gift Wrap Patterns
A long time Smock favorite, our eco gift wrap is made from 100% post consumer recycled paper and features colorful double-sided patterns. We’ve introduced six new patterns all perfect for the upcoming holiday season and occasions beyond.

Wow! It’s hard to believe it but the 2010 National Stationery Show has already come and gone – and we had an amazing time! Getting to spend time with people who love stationery as much as we do is undeniably our favorite part of attending the show! We can hardly believe it, but it’s true – the 2010 National Stationery Show kicks off later this morning! For those of you attending the show, we’d love to have you come visit us in booth 2241 where we’ll be spreading our love for stylish eco letterpress stationery and paper goods. We’re excited to announce that Smock’s calligrapher, Debi Zeinert of The Blooming Quill, will once again be joining us at the show offering complimentary calligraphy for visitors to our Smock booth. You can catch her from 9am to 6pm today and again from 11am – 2pm tomorrow and 10am to 1pm on Tuesday. Be sure to stop by and say hello!
