This is a vibrantly cool variation of our Cavall letterpress wedding invitation design — and it really showcases how back printing & envelope lining can make an invitation unforgettable. This invitation is for a Valentine’s Day wedding, so the mix of a peacock blue-green ink for the invitation, and raspberry ink for the envelope liner and backing, seemed perfect to us. We love the elegant energy of the patterns at play too (the Seneca pattern for the liner — one of our most popular patterns right now — and the Ledon pattern for the backing). We just couldn’t stop looking at this set! This invitation was sent to us by No Regrets in Newton, Massachusetts.

SIMPLE DESSERTS. I am not much of a baker. Which is to say that although I can bake I rarely do. This has as much to do with the fact that I don’t really need additional sweets in my life with the fact that its a time-constraint thing. But the holidays bring out the baker in me. So here are some of my go-to deserts. Hershey’s bars (my Dad’s favorite) and homemade chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting (also my Dad’s favorite). And Miette always helps with clean up.

The Amazon Conversation Association is one amazing environmental nonprofit that we support through 1% for the Planet (we donate 1% of sales to the ACA and the Pesticide Action Network) — but we are also so excited to support the Amazon Conservation Association by printing pro bono these letterpress cards for them this year. Letterpressed on bamboo paper of course….the sweet illustration is by Susan Cousineau, a Los Amigos Researcher in 2008.
We had to hold ourselves back from posting hundreds of photographs of this Vettore letterpress wedding invitation. Since we custom make each of our pocket folios, clients can choose whatever patterns and ink colors they want on the interior and exterior. So check out this awesome, drop-dead gorgeous folio in spring and pearl inks (interior pattern is clairveaux, the exterior pattern is a custom pattern inspired by the Vettore illustrations). Oh we are totally in love! Sent to us by our friends at Salutations in Charlotte, North Carolina.

BLANC D’CHINE. I have already established that I am a collector. But as I get older and my tolerance for clutter gets little-er I have focused my ever-seeking eye. Having said that if its ‘white’ and ‘patina-ed’ and ‘a pair’ it generally ends up in my keep. Like these ladies who travel from home to studio and back again. They seem quite content with their plight.

Our Rhon letterpress wedding invitations have a beautiful full-page spread in the February/March 2009 issue of Modern Bride!

In a story about wedding favors inspired by nature, the Spring/Summer 2009 issue of Town & Country features our Kurai cherry blossom letterpress donation tags — an elegant and eco idea for a wedding favor. You make a donation to a cause you care about, then put this sweet little card at each guest’s place setting explaining a donation has been made in their honor to this charity. See a larger pic of the donation card here.
Nothing can beat this Nevis save the date design in a rich black letterpress ink, paired with cool patternings at play. It’s modern and elegant and just really, really cool. The Nevis has been one of our hot letterpress invitation designs for the season so far. Sent to us by our friends at Peabody Papers in Columbus, Ohio.

Though we’re still enjoying the 10 degree mornings and snowfalls (and icefalls too), we can’t help but think of spring just around the corner — so this letterpress stationery, in the Kurai design, hit a warm spot in our hearts. We love the sweet patterned envelope liner too.

Magnificent Milestones, one of our favorite Smock dealers in Chicago, had a sweet write-up in the elegant Chicago Social Brides magazine for their cool eco party they hosted in the fall. We were thrilled to see Smock’s “new luxurious bamboo invitations” mentioned too!

Wordshop, one of our favorite stationery stores in Denver, was recently named one of the 20 Best New Boutiques by 5280.com (Colorado’s largest and award-winning magazine). We were thrilled to see Smock mentioned as well. Hooray! 5280.com writes that they love to visit Wordshop because of the “separate outdoor nook, complete with vintage desks and a writing bar, where we can site with a latte, our thoughts, and a pen and paper.” That sounds so addictive and lovely!
