We always love seeing real weddings from our customers! Alice and Dan worked with The Dandelion Patch to create their custom Haddington wedding invitations, which we printed in black ink on our white bamboo paper and paired with our popular pink vintage rose patterned envelope liners. They even ordered custom pink rose stamps to match! Their beautiful wedding took place at the Inn at Perry Cabin, a beautiful venue along the banks of the Chesapeake. Here are a few of our favorite photos, but be sure to check out Southern Weddings to see the rest of the images from their big day!

We were so thrilled when Lily Kesselman (the amazing photographer behind this next real wedding) shared her images of Katie & Jack’s gorgeous New York wedding. Katie worked with our friends at Judy Paulen Designs for their elegant Haddington wedding invitations, which were printed in midnight ink on our white bamboo paper. This wedding is overflowing with preppy sophistication and we can’t get enough of it!
Katie and Jack were married at the Convent of The Sacred Heart on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. After the ceremony, the couple rode to their reception in style in an iconic vintage taxi, while the guests and bridal party headed to the reception on chartered Greyline double-decker buses – complete with champagne and a tour of the city!
Congratulations to Katie & Jack, and thanks again to Lily for sharing these beautiful photos! Be sure to visit her blog to see more photos from their big day:

Merging the design elements of Haddington and Rhon, Alyssa from Judy Paulen Designs shows just how to balance a letterpress wedding invitation set.
Particularly stunning was the pale blue of our Lake ink used as an envelope liner which complimented the Pewter of the design and text, making an elegant wedding invitation.

This design won an honorable mention in our Smock design competition for the first half of 2011. This twice-a-year competition recognizes outstanding and inspired designs submitted by our beloved dealers.
Our wonderful friends at Pen & Paper in Byrn Mawr, Pennsylvania submitted this gorgeous letterpress wedding invitation in our Haddington design for Abigal and Andrew. Elizabeth Anne Designs featured the real wedding filled with jaw-dropping photos by Marie Labbancz of the bride and groom. We were equally blown away with the charm and elegance that surrounded this at home celebration!

One of our awesome Smock dealers, Paper & Chocolate in Dallas, Texas worked with Amy and Aaron on their gorgeous Smock letterpress wedding invitations in our Haddington design for their upscale Las Vegas wedding. We’re so excited to be sharing a little look at their beautiful wedding with you today! (And you can read more about Paper & Chocolate from a past blog feature, too.)
When asked to describe her big day, Amy shared, “Since most of our friends and family are scattered across the country, we decided to have our wedding at our personal favorite vacation spot, Wynn Las Vegas. We were not interested in having Elvis marry us, but instead, taking advantage of the beautiful scenery of the resort, where there was something for everyone. The theme of our wedding was old Hollywood glamor with a modern twist.
I fell in love with purple Vanda orchids and green Cymbidium orchids, which set our color palette. Wynn Las Vegas does an amazing job with floral design, and they provided the flowers, catering, and cake.
Our Smock invitations set the tone for a fabulous black tie event. The ceremony was held on the terrace of the Margaux Ballroom, overlooking the Wynn golf course and a giant waterfall. Guests then moved into one half of the ballroom for cocktail hour, while the terrace was converted into a candlelit area for visiting.
After cocktail hour, Wynn opened draping to dramatically reveal a seated dinner with immaculate service. Harbor Lights West provided the 8-piece band, which made the dinner and dancing reception spectacular. It could not have been a more luxurious and memorable day.”
Thanks so much, Amy and Aaron, for sharing your beautiful celebration with us – this is not your average Las Vegas wedding and we just love all of the glamorous details. Congratulations from all of us here at Smock!

Keeping on with our Smock Design Contest honorees, this next design is a custom Haddington letterpress wedding invitation sent to us by Just Paper & Tea in Washington, DC. It was printed in tangerine and a custom bright pink ink with bright pink edge painting and a matching liner in our payette pattern. We love this bold modern take on the classic wedding invitation using our Haddington calligraphy design in bright cheerful ink colors. Paired with edge painting and a patterned envelope liner, it’s a thoroughly modern interpretation of a timeless design.
Thanks so much to our friends at Just Paper & Tea for sending us this amazing creation!
It’s a bit ironic that we have sun and summer on the brain today given the blinding snow currently falling over Central New York, but our dreams of sunshine can’t be deterred – we can’t wait for spring to get here! This time of year we start to get a lot of inquiries about invitation designs particularly well-suited to waterfront, beach or destination weddings so we thought we’d dig up some of our favorites from last year to share with you. There’s nothing like the promise of warm summer breezes to get you inspired, snow or no snow.
This first invitation is our Lashar design printed in pewter ink using our Smock Spencerian calligraphy font. The back of the letterpress invitation features gorgeous patterned backing printed in sea mist in our lesina pattern.
This invitation was a beautiful custom version of our Haddington design, printed in espresso ink and blind deboss. The palm tree motif was a custom addition to the design, making it perfect for an elegant destination wedding.
Brought to us by our friends at Peabody Papers in Columbus, Ohio, this version of our popular Vettore design was printed in midnight and seamist inks. The flourishes from the Vettore design were modified in such a way that they remind us of water and waves without being literal.
This custom version of our Engadine design was printed for the folks at Luxe Expressions in Atlanta. It’s a letterpress reply postcard printed in midnight and seamist that features pretty ocean-themed motifs. The card also includes space for guests to reply to multiple weekend events, which is a great option when designing your stationery for a destination wedding.
