Remember these adorable paint party invitations that we created for Drue’s 4th birthday? Well today we’ve got photos from the actual soirée! When she initially came across the shirt that would eventually inspire the entire look of the celebration, Drue’s mother, Shelby (owner of Press Paperie in Fort Worth, Texas) thought it would be the most darling shirt for an art party – and we couldn’t agree more! Shelby put on the cutest celebration for Drue and friends, complete with festive painterly decorations, embroidered art smocks, and a canvas for each guest to create a masterpiece! We love how she used the theme to inspire the decor – especially the hand-painted table runners and the paintbrushes nestled into the floral accents. What a fun theme for a birthday party!

We worked with Press Paperie to create these custom birthday party invitations. Inspired by an adorable Kate Spade dress, these painterly invitations were created for Drue’s fourth birthday party – which was, of course, a paint party! We created custom envelope liners for the thank you notes to match the invitations and the cute die-cut thank you tags that were created for favors also included the custom pattern.

A lavish affair calls for a special invitation! We customized our Walsh design for Jeffrey’s 50th birthday party invitations by changing the orientation and adding a conch shell from our motif library. We also included ocean inspired motifs on the events card, which outlined the various activities being offered to guests during the three day celebration.

A 90th birthday celebration calls for an extra special invitation, don’t you think? We worked with Papyrus to create these stunning silver foil stamped invitations and save the dates for Nan’s 90th. The cards featured our Avella design and were printed on our white, 2-ply bamboo paper, then die-cut using our Plymouth shape. Metallic silver edge painted added an extra touch of glamour to these milestone invitations.

These fun surprise birthday party invitations were printed for Steve’s 65th birthday celebration. We customized our Rainier design in a sleek color palette of platinum shine foil paired with taupe letterpress ink. A custom belly band with the word “Shhhhhh…” was the first thing guests would read upon opening this handsome invitation. Rainier patterned envelope liners added an elegant finishing touch.

Today’s guest post comes from Lisa at
Rock Paper Scissors in Ann Arbor, Michigan and features some amazing birthday party invitations that were made with our nautical
lettersheets!
At Rock Paper Scissors, we get REALLY excited about celebrations. We love everything about them: from the paper, to the place settings, to the details (and even the gift wrapping!). We also have a huge obsession with all things nautical. So this month, when Rock Paper Scissors teammate and craft aficionado, Coco, turned 21 and set sail to create the PERFECT nautical 21st birthday party—we went overboard with excitement! She chose the Oxford, Ridley and Anchor patterned Smock lettersheets with beautiful blue and nautical prints on the back and rope and anchor watermark details on the front that went perfectly with the nautical theme of her 21st birthday dinner!
Here’s how she did it:
- Using a fine tip blue marker, she wrote out the details of the event in fun styles on plain computer paper.
- She then scanned her design and used Photoshop to scale it to the proper size.
- After adjusting her computer’s printer settings to accommodate the size of the stationery, she simply fed the stationery sheets into her printer to create perfectly printed, customized invitations.
- To complete the look, she dolled up the envelopes with rubber stamps in nautical designs and bedecked them with the addresses of her hopeful attendees.
- Dropped them in the {SNAIL} mail and waited for her guest’s reactions!
The party itself was decked out in Smock goodies—from the birthday present from her parents (using Smock’s double-sided Oxford gift wrap) and the cupcake liners (also using the gift wrap), Courtney’s party sent us sailing! We love this custom, hand-lettered invite and party details and can’t wait for the next opportunity to celebrate EVERYTHING with creative paper goods!
Thanks so much to Lisa for sharing this fabulous DIY project and nautical party with us! Have a creative DIY project of your own that features Smock products? Send it to us today!
We printed these simple, yet elegant, birthday announcements for our friend Linda Chamlin at LS Amster Company. They were offset printed in our Espresso and Heliotrope inks. They are a beautiful way to welcome an 18th birthday.
