We recently launched a variety of new cards for spring holidays like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, along with other occasion cards celebrating weddings, engagements, and new homes. Several of our new gift wrap styles feature hand painted watercolor patterns – a brand new style for 2017! Take a look at all the new styles in our new arrivals section!
We recently held a gift wrapping workshop here at our Syracuse print shop in collaboration with our friends at May Arts Ribbon. Each attendee learned how to get the perfect gift wrapping measurements, how to make an invisible seam, and how to put together some really cute gift toppers. In addition the gift toppers, guests were able to dress up their gifts with some festive, holiday-themed May Arts ribbons — we came up with so many fun wrap pairings! Take a peek at the event and some of the final wrapped presents below. You’ll even catch a sneak peek at some of our brand new gift wraps that will soon be available!

We were excited to spot our double-sided Bayberry gift wrap in the September 2016 issue of Gifts and Decorative Accessories Magazine. The feature was all about gift wrapping, and making the exterior of your gift look just as special as what’s inside. Our double-sided gift wraps make it easy to dress up a gift – use the alternating patterns on a gift with multiple boxes, or use a strip of the opposite side of the wrap like ribbon as a finishing touch. Many thanks to Gifts & Decorative Accessories for including Smock in this feature!
Our 2016 Sidewalk Sale has quickly come & gone, and today we’ve got a peek inside the sale tents for those of you who couldn’t make it out for the event! The event drew shoppers in to stock up on cards, gift wrap, keepsake boxes, gift tags, and more during the sale, with several local food trucks adding to the appeal. We’re also proud to announce we helped raise just under $400 dollars for Onondaga Earth Corps! We had a fun, carnival-style prize wheel where event-goers could donate $1 to spin the wheel and win a prize, with all proceeds benefitting this great local organization. If you missed the sale, you can take advantage of our online sale: use the code sidewalksale16 at checkout from now through August 31, 2016 to save 40% site-wide* on our everyday stationery essentials. Start shopping!
Sale ends at midnight on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 and does not apply to invitation samples or custom orders.
We always love spotting our products on the pages of our favorite magazines! Smock’s been getting some love from HGTV Magazine as well as Woman’s Day and Celebrate. In the April 2016 issue of Woman’s Day, our medium Chartreuse boxes were featured in an article all about getting your home organized as the perfect vessel for mail (and if company comes before you’re ready, just pop on the lid to hide the mess!).
HGTV Magazine has also featured Smock in some recent issues! They used several of our patterned gift wraps in their December 2015 holiday issue about stylish new color combos (recreate the looks with our Dots, Turk, and Shimmer gift wraps). And the September 2015 issue of HGTV featured our wraps right on the cover! They created easy little makeovers by covering magazine holders and boxes with some of our wrap to create cute new office organization tools (for this story, they used our Indigo and Keiko wraps).
Celebrate Magazine also included us in their holiday issue, with lots of cute DIY ideas featuring our cards! They created festive garland, ceramic holiday coasters, and DIY gift toppers by repurposing our Lights Cheer, Love & Joy, Peace on Earth, and Branch Crest cards. Many thanks to all three publications for featuring Smock!
National Letter Writing Month is in April, and to encourage more people to get in on the fun, we’re including free cards with every online purchase between now and March 25, 2016! We’ll include a pre-selected assortment of offset (flat printed) and/or letterpress printed cards with every order, and orders over $25 will receive at least one pack of jotters with their free gift. No code is necessary to take advantage of this offer, and domestic orders over $100 shipped within the US and Canada will receive free ground shipping. Happy shopping!
Our team has been getting crafty lately! Jen from our Everyday team (the mastermind behind our decorative National Stationery Show displays every year) put together a few decorative heart-shaped wreaths with Valentine’s Day in mind. She created both wreaths with extra envelope liners that were going to be recycled, but they could easily be made using any of our gift wraps. The first piece is a massive heart made of tiny paper cones. Jen started with a large piece of cardboard for the backing cut into a heart shape (and sized a bit smaller than the final product — you’ll want the cones to hang over a bit so they hide the cardboard edges), then made small paper cones and adhered them to the outside and worked our way in (check out this tutorial for some helpful visuals). We love our ATG guns for craft projects like this one, but you could also use a glue gun for this sort of project.
Jen also created a heart-shaped wreath using a variety of rose gold foil envelope liner scraps, with hints of gray mixed in. For this wreath, she started again with a heart-shaped, cardboard base, but instead of cones, covered the wreath with small leaf shapes adhered with ATG. To give the wreath volume, Jen pinches the adhered end of the leaf just a bit before adhering so that it doesn’t flatten out. The leaves are then layered over the entire base until it’s covered and voilà! A festive (and reusable) Valentine’s Day wreath.
We love the “dinner date” that Bridal Guide magazine put together featuring our rose gold foil stamped I Heart You card! The at home date night guide was featured in the September / October 2015 issue, and included pretty florals, festive red and white dinnerware, gold flatware and a love note on our card. Thanks to Bridal Guide for including us in such a sweet feature!
