Smock Design Contest – Engadine Save the Dates from Gus & Ruby Letterpress
As promised last week, we’re so excited to share with you the winning designs in our latest Smock Design Contest. This breathtaking customization of our Engadine design is a letterpress save the date brought to us by our friends at Gus & Ruby Letterpress in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The warm burnt orange and ruby colors were custom ink colors chosen specifically to match the look and feel of the couple’s wedding. Samantha from Gus & Ruby shares, “We were so happy to collaborate with Heather (the bride-to-be) to create a classic save-the-date that would set the tone for her fall wedding. The rich colors and seasonal graphic made this design the perfect choice.”
Thank you so much to Samantha and Whitney of Gus & Ruby for bringing us this amazing customization. To learn more about their fabulous store, check out their recent Smock Store Spotlight feature.
Smock Design Contest – Engadine Letterpress Wedding Invitations from Judy Paulen Designs
The first of two honorable mentions in our Smock Design Contest brought to us by Judy Paulen Designs at Bloomingdale’s in New York, we’re completely in love with this chic customization of our Engadine letterpress wedding invitation design. It’s printed in elegant wisteria and pewter inks and features our playful Etienne and Shaw fonts for a finished design that is the perfect blend of traditional elegance and modern sophistication. The set also includes a really lovely letterpress reception card that makes the most of a play between the script Etienne font and the clean look of the sans serif Shaw font. It’s minimal and simple, but still fresh and completely chic.
Thanks so much to our friends at Judy Paulen for sending us this beautiful customization!
Smock’s Letterpress Invitations in New York Magazine Weddings and Bridal Guide
Smock’s letterpress wedding invitations were recently featured in one of our favorite wedding magazines, New York Magazine Weddings! They showcased both a customization of our Engadine letterpress invitation…
and our Cavall letterpress reply card!

Smock is also featured in the current issue of another favorite, Bridal Guide, where they highlighted our Aberdeen letterpress invitation as a favorite eco-friendly invitation design.

We are completely thrilled to be featured in such fabulous magazines and send a big thank you to New York Magazine Weddings and Bridal Guide. It is always so fun to see Smock designs in print!
Smock Design Contest – Three Color Engagdine Letterpress Invitation from Kate’s Paperie
It’s not every day that we get to print an insanely beautiful 3-color letterpress wedding invitation and this one, a customization of our Engadine design and honoree in our Smock Design Contest from Kate’s Paperie, is just that – insanely beautiful. Printed in soft cream, verbena and periwinkle inks, this lovely letterpress wedding invitation is truly one of a kind. Using our Smock Spencerian calligraphy font in verbena and our Stockton serif font in periwinkle, this customization feels both bold and modern yet soft and pretty. Opting to use the Engadine leaf motif at the top of the invitation as opposed to in the lower corner as in the original design further personalizes the invitation, making it a true reflection of the couple and their wedding.
Thanks so much to our friends at Kate’s Paperie for sending along this customization – we always love the opportunity to print a really fabulous 3-color letterpress wedding invitation!
Letterpress menus make your wedding reception look good!
Designing and letterpress printing menus is one of our favorite things to do here – the weddings become so real at this point, and our clients have really, really good taste in food. Letterpress menus generally evoke your wedding invitation design and bring things full circle. On occasion, menus double as place cards and have the name of the guest calligraphied at the top of the menu. We think these letterpress menus would be fabulous for other occasions – milestone birthday parties, for instance, or even a really unforgettable dinner party of the year. We often do cool customizations like edge painting (go gold!), corner rounding, or even back printing of patterns. Here are a few of our favorite letterpress menus of late!
